Sculpture on the Edge is an outdoor sculpture prize held on the escarpment of the stunning Sunshine Coast hinterland town of Maleny. Held annually, at Spicers Tamarind Retreat it attracts renowned artists from across the region bringing the work of sculptors out of their creative spaces into a well curated paradise. Visitors are invited to immerse themselves in the picturesque 18-acre property which provides a unique setting for site specific works and installations.
A perfect start to the event is the twilight viewing opening & awards event to be held at Spicers Tamarind Retreat on Friday 22nd October. The public are invited to join us in the stunning gardens of Tamarind from 4pm. Enjoy drinks and an Asian inspired travelling feast while you mingle with the artists. The twilight event will culminate in an awards ceremony as the judges’ decision is announced.
A visit to the exhibition is a great day out. There are over 40 sculptures to discover as you wander through the beautiful 18 acres of landscaped gardens and admire the works of sculptors who have created unique pieces for the region’s premier outdoor sculpture event.
Order a picnic basket from The Tamarind Restaurant and take time out with family and friends. Tea and scones are available every day and there’s even a treasure hunt for the kids. If you come on a Sunday, there will be Jazz playing in the garden. Spicers Tamarind Retreat is also dog friendly, provided your pooch is on a lead.
Live on the edge and enjoy a sculptural journey in a landscaped paradise. You might just get to chat to one the sculptors or find a piece that is perfect for your own garden oasis.
The exhibition opens on October 22 and continues until November 7, 2021. Open daily from 9am-4pm
